Formed in March 2006, we are a non-profit making club representing the interests of boat owners and estuary users. The club aims are:
  • To bring together the local boating community whose interests may vary from simple day boating, coastal cruising or fishing in anything from canoes to dories, small sailing cruisers to RIBs.
  • To raise any concerns and issues arising from members' use of the estuary with the Salcombe Harbour Authority, South Hams District Council, the Town and Parish Councils and the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary

We are an officially recognised forum to the newly constituted Harbour Board. We operate a very successful Boatwatch around the estuary and hope that our new members will participate in this.

The club meets at the Crabshell Inn, Embankment Road, Kingsbridge. We organise social events which last year included an evening cruise on the Rivermaid, a barbecue and a Christmas party which were all very well supported. We hope to have similar events again this year.

We also have a winter programme of get-togethers on the third Wednesday of the month from October to April when we invite guest speakers. Our meetings are informal and friendly.

We currently have about 140 members and the subscription for 2008/09 is £10 per family per year due on 1st April. If you wish to join or renew your membership, click here.

The club produces a newsletter three times a year to keep members informed of club activities and events. Contributions and photographs are always welcomed. Contact John Roberts. (See contact us page).
